Roger and the Rottentrolls is a British children's comedy television series written by Tim Firth for ITV
Julian directed 32 episodes of the series that followed the adventures of Roger Beckett (aged 10¾) in Troller's Ghyll as King of the Rottentrolls. As well as ruling over the Rottentrolls, Roger teaches them about things like sport and politics, and, in return, learns a few lessons himself.
Later in the series Roger's little stepsister Kate (played by Holly Grainger) follows him to the valley and becomes Princess.
Radio Times voted it the 36th greatest children’s programme of all time
